Gore Bay Council Appoints 2 New Councillors

The Town of Gore Bay is excited to announce the appointment of Taryn Strain and Dan Forrest to fill two vacant Councillor seats following the Regular Council meeting on December 9, 2024.

Originally, one seat was declared vacant, and two applications were received by the December 5th deadline. Following the unexpected passing of Councillor Ken Blodgett, a second seat was declared vacant by Council. Council decided to appoint both of the applicants, Taryn Strain and Dan Forrest, to fill the vacancies. 

Both appointees have deep ties to the community and are eager to contribute to the future development of Gore Bay. Their appointments mark an exciting step forward for the Town, bringing fresh perspectives and energy to support the continued growth and development of Gore Bay. Taryn and Dan will be formally sworn in at the next Regular Council meeting on January 13, 2025.
