Water and Wastewater Services
The Town of Gore Bay is committed to providing residents and businesses with safe, high-quality drinking water and effective wastewater management. Our water and wastewater systems are maintained to meet all provincial regulations, ensuring a reliable and sustainable service for our community.
Water Treatment & Distribution
Water treatment services in Gore Bay are managed by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), a trusted provincial organization responsible for ensuring that our drinking water meets all health and safety standards. OCWA operates and maintains the Town’s water treatment plant, conducting regular testing and treatment to deliver clean, safe water to the community.
Once treated, the Town of Gore Bay manages the water distribution system, ensuring that water reaches homes and businesses efficiently. Our municipal team is responsible for maintaining water mains, service connections, hydrants, and valves, as well as responding to leaks or pressure concerns.
Wastewater Treatment & Collection
Wastewater treatment services are also performed by OCWA, ensuring that all wastewater is properly treated before being safely released back into the environment. Their team follows strict regulatory guidelines to protect local water sources and maintain environmental sustainability.
The Town of Gore Bay manages the wastewater collection system, including sewer mains and pumping stations, to ensure the efficient transport of wastewater to the treatment facility. We also handle routine maintenance, inspections, and emergency responses related to the sewer system.
Reporting Issues & Emergency Contacts
If you experience issues such as low water pressure, water discoloration, sewer backups, or leaks, please contact the Town of Gore Bay. For more information about OCWA and its water treatment services, visit OCWA’s website.
