GORE BAY SUMMER THEATRE
Plays held throughout July and August at the Gore Bay Community Hall, 52 Meredith St. The theatre production, "The Gin Game" by D.L. Coburn, directed by Walter Maskel, can be enjoyed throughout July and August, and is a hilarious comedy with dramatic elements. Also, "More Munsch", a children's play by Robert Munsch, will be enjoyed on Sundays throughout July and August, and includes six well-known and well-loved Munsch stories. Tickets can be obtained by calling (705) 282-2420 or (800) 529-5518 or by picking them up at the Gore Bay Municipal Office at 15 Water Street.

MACMAN Challenge Yacht Race
The 7
th running of the Mackinac to Manitoulin International Yacht Race (Known as MACMAN) finishes the 1
st leg of the race in beautiful Gore Bay on July 23, 2010. There will be a fish fry on Friday and breakfast on Saturday. The full race course: starts at Machinac Island, Michigan eastward across Northern Lake Huron to False Detour Passage and the entry into the clear blue waters of the North Channel. Western Manitoulin 5 & 10K Event
Please come and join us in Gore Bay on beautiful Manitoulin Island on Saturday, July 24, 2010 for a 5K or 10K walk/run event. Our 5 & 10K event offers many of the amenities of a big city race, but all of the charm of a small town. Race day registration, briefing and start/finish will be at the site of the Gore Bay Summerfest in Smith Park, on the waterfront. The race follows the shoreline on the North Channel past the Gore Bay Marina where the sailboats from the world famous MacMan Sailing Race have moored for the night, out Lighthouse Road, with the 10k turnaround near the historic century old Janet Head Lighthouse. The 5k follows the same route with the turnaround just a bit sooner.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
Race Start Time is 10:15 a.m.

After the race, please consider staying a while and enjoying our local shops and businesses. The 2010 Summerfest begins just a few hours after the end of the race and is always a great time featuring local bands as well as tribute bands of the biggest names in music.
