The Gore Bay Culture and Recreation Committee aims to facilitate multi-generational recreational opportunities in the areas of sports, social opportunities, theatre and the arts. The purpose of the committee is to investigate, initiate and assist in organizing recreational events for all Gore Bay citizens and their family and friends.
Some of the past community events and activities that we are proud of includes the following:
- Gore Bay Summer Theatre *2007 Provincial Winners*
- Indoor Recreational Volleyball 16+
- Indoor Recreational Basketball for Teens
- Dress Up Skating Carnival
- Easter Egg Hunt
- Spring T-Ball/ Blooper Ball Leagues
- Youth Summer Softball
- Canada Day Festivities
- 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
- Halloween Dance
Some of the things we are working towards include:
- Dress Up Walking Parade
- Community Shuffle Board League
- Annual Golf Tournament
- Soccer Fields and League
Volunteers support all events and fundraising, therefore we encourage people to get involved in their community by helping with the various events we support and organize. If you or anyone you know is interested in organizing, supporting or helping to assist with any recreational activities or fundraising please call the Town Office at 282-2420. We are here to unite the town through fun, entertaining and social means.
